Macrium has always worked well for me, but then I don't know if it would have last January, where the removal of one program completely removed all WiFi. Even on my machine, it is reported as operating properly.ģ. Adapter, on both computers, is the Realtek Wireless LAN device to give me both 2.4 and 5.0 from the router. That aside, how do I do it your way? I don't care how I get an entirely new copy, but I feel that that might be the only way to fix the problem (being treated in another thread), that the DHCP server cannot be accessed.Ģ. Not to argue, but as I wrote, I did it from the bootable ISO-or so I remember, which may be wrong. And hope that they haven't written something to the PC that would prevent that from working. Thanks for responding.ġ. If it was me, I'd uninstall it, and download an install the free version gain. What sort of WiFi adapter are you using? On the motherboard, USB, M.2, add-in card? Does it appear in Device Manager?Īs regards Macrium Reflect, I don't use that. I'm not sure how far back that goes, but I believe to at least Vista. To do an upgrade (or in in-place repair install), you must do it from within Windows. What can I do to repeat the successful operation of a few months ago? I don't understand why I got that message and the process failed. That would only allow me to again do what I had already done and which did not help. It went on to advise restarting, then inserting the installation media and running Windows Setup. Instead of proceeding to run, I got a message stating that the upgrade option is not available if you start your computer using Windows installation media. Assuming that removing and replacing Windows would give me a fully-working version, I then booted the ISO and chose the same option as before, which did not work. (Perhaps however, the free update to Version 7 had a time limit which had just expired.)įacing that, I created a new ISO, and, without booting, used it to install a new copy of Windows, which did not repair the problem. That did not work, and an investigation showed that my paid version had defaulted to a trial version, which had then expired I suspect-don't know-that this was due to a lack of Internet, assuming that Reflect verifies the license when opened. I was going to restore using last Monday's Macrium Reflect full backup. Last Friday, I suddenly lost my WiFi Internet, and have not yet been able to remedy the situation.

To start, last January, due to a mangled Windows 10 Home (skipping the details), I created and booted into the USB ISO, chose the option "Install Windows and keep files", which installed a new, clean copy.
